Help Send Abigail to School - PLEASE!

Hi, my name is Abigail.  I need help.

On Mother’s Day weekend, I completed my bachelor’s degree magna cum laude at Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA, majoring in Fitness and Business/Sports Management with a concentration in Exercise Physiology and a minor in Human Biology.  In my profession, a graduate degree is becoming almost necessary; to that end, I have been admitted to the graduate program in Rehabilitation Science and Injury Prevention at The California University of Pennsylvania.  My academic success to this point has translated into partial scholarship award from Cal U, and I am working part-time fitness positions at YMCA’s and Air Fitness in the area.  The experience is very worthwhile and I know I have found my calling!

To date, I have paid my own way through college with savings, scholarship, and part-time jobs, but I can see that I need help financially to achieve this next practical step.  I have chosen GoFundMe to enlist the support of those who believe in me and what I plan to do in the lives of athletes, senior adults, and the injured of all ages, as well as teaching people how to live a healthy life and build a confident self-image.

The cost of this concentrated, 18-month program is $26,160.  My own resources and scholarship have left me in need of only $6,760 more including a $400 Strength and Conditioning certification requirement.  Most other master’s programs cost considerably more, but this program has a solid reputation and keeps me close to my family, friends and part-time jobs, while also being reasonably priced.

Bottom Line -- I am asking you to consider two things:  first, I need your prayers that my earnings may be able to cover some or most of these expenses; and second, your financial help to fund my future by donating whatever you are lead to give to help me to reach my goal of $6,360.

I thank you for your consideration, and ask God to bless you for that.

Who (or What) Protects You from Life?

"Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him."
Proverbs 30:5

Though relatively few of us have ever experienced war, all of us are under attack from a wide range of enemies.  Envy, lust, and greed attack our hearts and tell us that God isn't enough to make us happy.  Possessions, sex, and prestige, many insist, are more important than God's purposes.  Even friends and family turn against us, betray our trust, stab us in the back, or just walk away, leaving us alone and abandoned.  Our culture shouts that no matter how much we have, it's never enough.  And the enemy of our souls lies to us, telling us that God doesn't care, that He can't help us, and that we're on our own.  What kind of attacks have you experienced lately?

In the fight against all these enemies, God is our protection - He is our shield.  He protects us by giving us insight from His Word so that we can fight and win every battle.  To be sure, warfare isn't clean and neat.  Sometimes we get dirty, and occasionally we get hurt.  But God's Word reminds us of His love and strength.  It gives us truth about God's purposes, our motives, and the destructive ways the world.  Our sinful flesh and the devil are trying to bring us down.

When we fail to read God's Word and gain its wisdom, we are vulnerable.  Attacks can devastate us.  So read and study, grasp the truths of God and trust Him in the  midst of the battle.  But remember, it's not what you know - it's what you use that makes the difference.
